Team strategy, nonstop match play and a unique competitive format are coming to the LTP 3v3 Pickleball Tournament with Pickleball Charleston on Saturday, May 16.
The event brings together men’s and women’s teams for a fast-paced competition built around teamwork and depth. Players will compete in POD-style round robin play before advancing into bracket competition, with every participant guaranteed at least six games throughout the day.
Unlike traditional doubles tournaments, the 3v3 format adds an entirely different dynamic to the game.
“There’s a different level of energy when you compete as a team,” said Dan Levine, Director of Pickleball at LTP. “You’re strategizing together, supporting each other between matches and every lineup decision matters. It creates a really exciting atmosphere for players and spectators alike.”
All matches will be DUPR-rated, with scores officially recorded to ensure meaningful competition across every division. Teams register by combining the DUPR ratings of all three players to determine the appropriate division level.
For example, a team with ratings of 3.5, 3.75, and 4.25 would compete in the DUPR 12 division.
The POD format is designed to keep competition balanced and engaging, with winners advancing into bracket play after round robin action concludes.
“We wanted to create an event that combines competitive play with a strong community feel,” Levine said. “Whether players are coming to win their division or simply enjoy a full day of team competition, this format delivers both.”
