The intensity turned up today at LTP Charleston as quarterfinal action got underway in the USTA Girls’ 18s National Clay Court Championship, showcasing some of the top junior tennis players in the country. Today’s quarterfinals brought high-level competition under challenging heat and humidity.
The standout match of the day featured Raina Kim (Santa Monica, CA) and Carlota Moreno (Knoxville, TN). After splitting the first two tightly contested sets, Kim taking the first 6-3, Moreno claiming the second 6-4—Moreno surged through the third set with a dominant 6-0 finish to secure her spot in the semifinals.
