For nearly a decade, Marcela Zacarías and Marco Zarzosa formed one of the most enduring player–coach partnerships on the professional tennis circuit. From 2015 to 2023, their journey extended far beyond the practice court, evolving into a shared life on tour and producing results shaped by trust, discipline and mutual commitment.

Zacarías, a former world No. 7 junior, built a distinguished professional career under Zarzosa’s guidance. She reached a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 151 and No. 119 in doubles, milestones that reflected her consistency and longevity on tour. Together, they captured 11 ITF singles titles, highlighted by a $80,000 tournament victory in Rancho Santa Fe, California. Their success was equally notable in doubles, where they claimed 20 ITF titles, including a $100,000 championship in Granby, Canada.

Their partnership reached a defining moment at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, where Zacarías earned a silver medal in doubles, adding an important chapter to their shared journey on the international stage.

Zacarías also left a lasting imprint in team competition. She holds the record for most singles victories and most years played in the Billie Jean King Cup, representing her country for 10 years. Zarzosa remained by her side during the 2022 and 2023 Billie Jean King Cup campaigns, continuing a collaboration rooted in preparation and belief.

Together, Zacarías and Zarzosa competed in the qualifying rounds of all four Grand Slam tournaments, navigating the physical and mental demands of elite tennis while sustaining a unified approach to competition and daily life.

Away from the court, balance became central to their story. The couple shares a ranch in Mexico, surrounded by animals, a place where they reconnect whenever they return home. After more than a decade traveling the world on tour, they were known for their openness and social nature, forming friendships across cultures and sharing meals with friends at tournaments.

Despite the discipline required at the professional level, they made time to explore the cities where they competed. Discovering new places and cultures became an essential counterweight to the intensity of training and matches, reminder that life on tour was not only about results, but about shared experiences.

In the end, the story of Marcela Zacarías and Marco Zarzosa is not only one of titles, records and medals, but of a life shaped by tennis, lived side by side, across continents and defined by balance both on and off the court.
